JANIS JOPLIN

Janis Lyn Joplin became known in the late 1960s as a singer for the Big Brother and the Holding Company group, and later for her solo songs.

Recognized and remembered for the intensity of her performances, in 1995 she was included in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and in 2005 she was awarded the Grammy Award for Lifetime Achievement.

The US magazine Rolling Stone puts it in 46th place on the list of the 100 most important artists in history and at the 28th in the 2008 ranking of the 100 most important singers of all time.
