The Valli di Sole, Peio, and Rabbi Tourism Board has selected Bing, the beloved character from the popular animated series for children aged 0-6, as the face of an exciting family initiative. Additionally, experts from the Italian Society of Paediatrics will be offering invaluable guidance to families on child development.
This year, Bing, the star of the cherished preschool animated series, boasting over 8 billion views worldwide and renowned for its educational and values-driven storytelling, will take centre stage at the Val di Sole ski season. From 22 March to 6 April, Bing and Flop will accompany young skiers at the Folgarida Marilleva ski area, guiding them through their first adventures on the snow with a series of family-friendly initiatives.
For a period of two weeks, children aged 3 to 6 will be able to ski and stay free of charge, thanks to the Smiling Family Week offer, which also includes ski lessons and equipment hire. Special discounted rates will be available for older siblings as well.
Throughout this time, three family-friendly snow parks, chalets, libraries, and baby clubs will host a variety of Bing-themed activities and events. After an exhilarating day on the slopes, children can unwind with a snack on a terrace overlooking the stunning Brenta Dolomites, immerse themselves in books about Bing and his friends, dance to music from the series, colour in Bing activity sheets, and even meet Bing and Flop in person for a truly memorable experience.
That’s not all: on 24 and 31 March, special sessions for parents will take place at the Pellizzano and Monclassico kindergartens. Paediatricians from the Italian Society of Paediatrics will provide expert advice on two essential topics concerning young children’s health: nutrition and sleep. These events will also serve as a platform to discuss Le Buone Abitudini (Good Habits), a campaign promoting healthy habits for the proper and peaceful development of children. Launched in June 2023, this initiative is the result of a collaboration between the Italian Society of Paediatrics, Assonidi, and Acamar Films, the production company behind Bing.
“We are delighted to collaborate with the Val di Sole Tourism Board to create an unforgettable experience for young children and their families”, said Kirsty Southgate, Director of Experiential & Promotions at Acamar Films. “This partnership offers us a unique opportunity to engage with families in an exciting new way, bringing the world of Bing to a stunning location. We look forward to seeing the joy this collaboration will bring to children and their families.”
“We are thrilled to launch this partnership with Acamar Films and bring the beloved Bing character to life in our region,” said Fabio Sacco, General Manager of the Val di Sole Tourism Board. “This collaboration enables us to offer a unique and incredibly fun experience for all families visiting Val di Sole. We are confident that this Bing-themed event will enhance the appeal of our family-friendly parks and create truly memorable moments for our youngest visitors”.
Maurizio Distefano, President of the Maurizio Distefano Licensing agency, which facilitated the agreement between Acamar Films and Val di Sole Tourism Board, stated, “We are excited to have brought this project to life. Bing is a character that resonates deeply with Italian families, and we are sure that this initiative will offer an engaging and unforgettable experience for all ages”.
The three family parks within the Folgarida Marilleva Skiarea involved in this initiative are Family Park Folgarida, Family Park Marilleva, and Family Park Daolasa. These areas are specially designed for young children and feature a team of professional entertainers who bring joy to families with music, fun games, and the cheerful mascot Snowy. The family parks are the perfect setting for children who want to try skiing for the first time in complete safety, or to enjoy thrilling rides on bobsleds and toboggans.
